Ervin Ray Smith, age 54, of Wilmington and formerly of Wallace died Sunday, June 28, 2009 in New Hanover County.

He was born December 14, 1954 in Duplin County and was the son of the late Earl and Dollie Walton Smith. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Gyer and May Ezzell.

Surviving are his brothers, Tommy Smith and wife, Laura of Teachey and Billy Smith of Teachey; sister, Linda Faye Smith of Pendleton, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Manning officiating.

Burial will follow at Dunn Davis Cemetery in Richlands.

The family will receive friends 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral service at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wallace and other times at the home of Tommy and Laura Smith.
