Espy Eakins Pesaturo, 91, of Ivanhoe passed peacefully from her earthly life on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center.
She was born in Pender County, the daughter of the late Thomas Dewey and Nora Belle Eakins. Also lovingly remembered is her husband, Salvatore Pesaturo and brother, Thomas Eakins, both who preceded Espy in death
Espy is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay Purdy of Wilmington; son, James Thomas Pesaturo (Mary Jane) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Amy Ann Pesaturo of Jacksonville, Fl, Dawn Marie Jarman and Christine Purdy Dixon (Bo) both of NH, and Johnathan Purdy (Roxanne) of Ivanhoe; great grandchildren, Bryanna, Catherine, and Jayme; sisters, Rachel Schilling and Sara Lois Watt; and many nieces and nephews.
Espy, a wonderful and blessed mother, grandmother, sister and friend loved her family dearly. Her sweet smile, sharing manner, gentle voice endeared her to both family and friends. She was a caring and giving lady who brought joy into this world.
A memorial graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, in Eakins Cemetery with the Pastor Clay Ritter officiating.
