Janie Estelle Atkinson Carter, age 80, of Warner Robins, Ga died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA.

She was born May 5, 1928 in Duplin County and was the daughter of Julius Austin and Myrtle Carr Atkinson. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvie Carter; sister, Louise Moore; brother, Lee Atkinson; daughter-in-law, Linda Carter; two step sisters and eight step brothers.

Surviving are her loving sons, Bobby J. Carter of Warner Robins, GA and Larry D. Carter and wife, Debbie of Wallace; grandchildren, Anthony Carter (Jenny), Shawn Carter (Brittney), Kim Carter and Amber C. Blanton (Darrell); great grandchildren, Molly Carter and Allison Carter; sisters, Mae Carter of Surf City and Lillian Petrecca of Lake City, FL and brother, David E. Atkinson of Carolina Beach.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday at Poston Baptist Church with the Rev. Dustin Gillespie officiating.

Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 am Friday, one hour prior to the funeral service at Poston Baptist Church.
