Ethel Travis Gee, 91, of Wilmington died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Britthaven of Northchase.

She was born April 7, 1918 in Lunenburg County, Virginia to Daniel J. and Arie Bayne Phillips Travis. She was also preceded in death by brother, Thomas Travis and sister, Emma Boothe.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-five years, James Maurice Gee; son and daughter-in-law, Courtney and Alfreda Gee of Burgaw; granddaughter, Arie Marae Gee of Burgaw; sister, Carolyn Grimm of Richmond, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. Ethel devoted her Christian life to her beloved family; leaving a wonderful legacy of love, caring, humility and how to live. Cherished memories of Ethel will forever remain in our hearts.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at Temple Baptist Church with The Rev. E. C. Mattocks officiating.

Graveside service and burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Ash Camp Baptist Church Cemetery in Keysville, Virginia.

Prior to the funeral service on Monday the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Temple Baptist Church Parlor.
