Obituary

Eugene Clark, age 85, of Burgaw passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Father's Day, Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Brian Center in Wallace.

He was born November 5, 1924 in Pender County, the son of the late Duncan Timothy Clark and Isabelle Wells Clark. Also lovingly remembered are wife, Delores Rowe Clark; sisters, Thelma Deal, Lucille Carter, and Pauline Woodcock and brother, Daniel A. "A.D." Clark.

Surviving are his daughters, Betty Oliver and her husband, Richard of Burgaw, Alice Walters and her husband, Aaron of Largo, Maryland, Cheryl Hajdasz of Leesburg, Virginia and Freda Yeck and her husband, Jimmy of Swansboro; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Priscilla, Kimberly, Steven, Thaddeus, Summer, Alexia and Jake; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Eugene served his country with honor and loyalty in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member of the W. Dudley Robbins American Legion Post 165 in Burgaw where he had served as a past Post Commander. Eugene was dedicated to his Christian beliefs, his family and his country.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with The Rev. Dean Walker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
