Obituary

Eunice Holley Elliott, age 95, of Castle Hayne and formerly of Jacksonville died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Hermitage House Rest Home.

She was born May 3, 1915 in Pender County, the daughter of the late William Marshall and Dorothy Lewis Holly. Also remembered are her sister, Lila M. Holly and brothers, David Holly and Harvey Holley.

Surviving are her niece, Judy Sidbury; nephews, David Holly, Jr. and Jack Holley; and special friends, Joseph and Ruth Guyton.

Mrs. Elliott worked with Civil Service in Washington, DC, Fort Bragg in Fayetteville and at Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville for many years. She was a very independent lady and always a diligent worker in her religion, her family and her profession.

Eunice loved her family and was greatly loved in return. For many years she and her sister, Lila, lived together and she always made sure Lila was taken care of. Eunice was a lady of grace, dignity and kindness. Remembered always are her faith in God, warm heart, gentle spirit and sweet, sweet smile.

Graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Mr. Tom Nussbaum officiating.
