Eunice Keith Hines, age 91, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 at New Hanover House in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Eunice was born on July 11, 1931 in Pender county to Walter Barnes and Geneva Smith Keith.  She is predeceased by her parents, and siblings Lurline Humphrey, Edgar Keith, Bobby Keith, and Relmer Keith.

Eunice graduated from Long Creek Grady High School in 1949.  She went to work with Southern Bell Telephone Company shortly after graduation, where she worked for 42 years until her retirement.  She was devoted to her family and was the best mother and Nana anyone could ever hope to have.  She spent the last season of her life at New Hanover House and made many friends there with other residents and the many caregivers.  Special thanks to everyone who helped make her time there the best possible.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Hines Gause (Steve) of Castle Hayne, William Douglas Hines (Edie) of Castle Hayne, David Alan Hines (Angela) of Rocky Point, and Kenneth Mark Hines (Kathy) of Wilmington.  Her grandchildren, Amy Westbrook (Jason), Steven Gause, Jennifer Bardsley (Rob), Christopher Hines (Meredith), Danielle Champion (Kevin), Eric Hines (Chantel), Samantha Hines, Justin Hines (AJ), Joshua Barbee (Lexi).  And her great-grandchildren, Holden, Carter, Bella, Cora, Layla, Gray, Vada, Celina, Steele, Geneva, Hadley, Josslyn, Tyson, Austin, Presley, Pyper, Hayden, and Summer. She is also survived by her siblings Walter Eugene Keith (Elaine), James Keith (Jean), Rebecca McGee and sister in law Ida Mae Keith. Also surviving is a special friend and honorary daughter, Kim Joyner.

Funeral services will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, 315 Willow Woods Drive, Wilmington NC on Thursday July 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Riley's Creek Memorial Cemetery in Rocky Point, NC directly after the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The New Hanover House Resident Activity Fund at newhanoverhouse.com or a charity of your choice.
