In addition to her parents Eva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Jones and grandson, Harris Chewning.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Jones Chewning (Conway); sons, Allen Harris Jones (Cathy) and Clinton “Clint” W. Jones (Mandy); grandchildren, Caroline Wilkinson (Charlie), Bret Jones (Chelsey), Jake Jones (Amber); Phoebe Plourde-Injar and Haki King (Maxim); eleven great grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Eva along with her husband, Gordon, established Burgaw Milling Company which still does a thriving farm supply business today. She was a faithful member of Burgaw United Methodist Church. In years past Eva was involved with American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Burgaw.
Eva was an extraordinary lady whose resounding faith and love of family was unmatched. Her brightly shining light often served as a guide to those around her. Those that knew Eva well always remember her culinary skills cooking her famous pound cakes, biscuits, and collards. She was a true example of what it meant to be a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend. Her presence in our lives will be forever missed, but we find solace in knowing she is at peace and rejoicing with her Almighty Father.
A graveside service will be held at Riverview Memorial Park on Thursday, July 23, 2026 with time to be announced.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Liberty Hospice and Bradley Creek at Carolina Bay for the excellent loving care given to Eva and support to the family.
