Obituary

Faye Teachey Prevatte, 64, of Penderlea Community in Willard passed from her earthly life to her eternal rest on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Faye was born August 30, 1948 in Burgaw, the daughter of Melva Foy Teachey and the late Joseph Kenion Teachey. Also remembered is her sister, Jo Ann Rivenbark who preceded Faye in death just four months ago.

In addition to her mother Faye is survived by her husband of 30 years, Harvey Lee Prevatte; sons, Johnnie Ray Pierce and David Wayne Pierce; daughter, Leigh Anna Pellettere; grandchildren, Ashley Robinson (Brandon), Chad Pierce, Taylor Pierce, Andrew Pierce, Kyle Pierce, Caleb Pellettere and Joanna Pellettere; great grandchildren, Pierce, Foye and Helen; sisters, Linda Harrell (Richard) and Georgia Condon (Jess); brothers, Ken Teachey (Judith) and Harry Teachey (Diane); brother-in-law, Martin Rivenbark; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Faye was a faithful member of Penderlea Baptist Church. Currently Faye served as Pender County Register of Deeds, Deputy. Her unwavering commitment to Pender County Government will long be remembered.

Faye loved with all of her heart and her radiant smile brightened the life of everyone she knew. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, and the joy in her life was her children and grandchildren. Filled with kindness, compassion, and laughter, Faye welcomed everyone she met into her wide circle of extended family and friends. Most important to Faye was her position in the Pender Register of Deeds which she performed with loyalty and dedication. Faye was a gift to this world and was loved by many. For the past several months Faye's Christian faith and courage has sustained her as she fought a valiant battle with cancer. Faye leaves a legacy of faith, love and hope.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6, at Penderlea Baptist Church with the Rev Bob Millis and Jimmy Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Penderlea Baptist Church, c/o Pattye Ebert, 1741 NC Hwy 53 W, Burgaw, NC 28425.
