Rivenbark, Jr.
Sep 12, 1940 — Feb 27, 2023
Floyd L. "Billy" Rivenbark, age 82, of Wallace, passed from this life to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 27, 2023.
He was born on September 12, 1940 in Pender County; the son of the late Floyd L. Rivenbark, Sr. and Lela Wells Rivenbark. He was also predeceased by his brother, Foriest Stanley Rivenbark.
Mr. Rivenbark was a member of Burgaw Holiness Church (now Gateway) and later he joined Peniel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board. Throughout the years, Billy taught Sunday School for various ages and worked with the youth. He was a true servant of God.
Surviving to cherish his memory, is his best friend and wife of 53 years, Elizabeth English Rivenbark; children, Lorrie Callaghan and husband, John of Warren, New Hampshire, Adam Rivenbark and wife, Whitney of Wilmington. Amy Olivas and husband, Servando of Wallace; step-children, Carl Hardison, Jr. of Marion and Melody Susan Ruddell and husband, James of Hillsborough; grandchildren, Arielle, Timothy, Dava, Billy, David, Christopher, Melissa, Brian, Allison and Tristan; great grandchildren, Hadley and Rand, special niece, Gwen; special cousin, Julia Rivenbark; special friend, Edna Vaughan and numerous extended family and friends that loved Billy dearly.
Billy was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a simple man who enjoyed the simplest things in life but his greatest joy was his family. He truly loved each one and especially his 'sweetheart' Elizabeth who loved him in return. Billy lived his life based on Christian principles and he instilled Christian values in his children. He was dedicated to his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. Billy always felt the Lord had a calling on his life and it was to teach Sunday School. He obeyed God and taught Sunday School for many years. Billy loved the Lord with all his heart and his purpose in life was to lead everyone he met to the Lord. He may have passed from this life, but one can be sure that his legacy will live on forever in the lives of those he loved and touched. He will be remembered for his humble spirit, his love for family and friends and his steadfast faith in God. "Well done thou good and faithful servant".
