Flydia Horrell Barnhill, age 91, of Ivanhoe died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 26, 1916 in Bladen County and was the daughter of the late John Blanchard Horrell and Mahalia Smith Horrell. She was also predeceased by her husband, Hilrey Gratan Barnhill.

Mrs. Barnhill was a member of Rowan Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Flydia was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her daughter, Frances "Beth" Barnhill Woodcock of Ivanhoe; grandchildren, Victor Eugene Pate, Jr. (Eileen) and Kristie Pate Stephens (Eddie); great grandchildren, Victoria Brooke Pate, Amber Marie Pate and Elizabeth Rose Stephens; step-grandchildren, Shelton Harrell, Robbie Woodcock (Pam), John Woodcock, Tim Woodcock, and Tony Woodcock; step-great grandchildren, Kendall Woodcock, Shellie Harrell, Heather Woodcock and Christian Woodcock; step-great great granddaughter, Haven Nicole Harrell and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Rowan P. F. W. B. Church, one hour prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Rowan P. F. W. B. Church with Pastor Gene Futrell and Pastor Jerome Bullard officiating.

Burial will follow in Haw Bluff Baptist Church Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Michael Pounds, Ben Horrell, Dave Delk, Anthony Dyson, Victor Pate and Eury Dyson.
