Frances Flynn Norris, age 84, of Kelly passed gently from her earthly rest to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at her home with family by her side.

She was born September 19, 1927 in Pender County, the daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Bessie Pearl Applewhite Flynn. Also remembered is her beloved husband of 57 years, Pearlie Jones Norris; sisters, Janie Bullard, Allene Moore, and Annie Bell Carroll; brothers, T. J. Flynn and Bennie Flynn, all who preceded Frances in death..

Frances is survived by her children, Judie Eakins (Cecil) of Wilmington, Tommy Norris (Sarah) of Castle Hayne, Ronny Norris (Laurie) of Rocky Point, Dale Norris (Diane) and Sheila Miller (Tracy) both of Kelly and Sherry Reeves (Tommy) of Hampstead; grandchildren, Darrin Eakins, Reggie Norris (Amanda), Gina Hart (Jonathan), Jessecia Norris and Cody McPherson all of Wilmington, Ryan Norris (Stephanie) and Taylor Buck of Rocky Point, Tonya Flickinger (Cole) of Wilmington, DE, Brandon Norris (Brittany), Rebecca Norris, Sheldon Miller and Kaylie Miller all of Kelly; great grandchildren, Tyler Hart, Anna Lee Hart, Emily Eakins, Alex Eakins, Zackery Norris, Katelyn Norris, Cory Norris, Riley Norris, Ben Norris, Sam Norris, Thomas Flickinger and Ann Lane Flickinger; sisters, Mavis Squires of Kelly and Estelle Sykes of Riegelwood; sisters-in-law, Darlie Norris of Kelly and Mary Lloyd of Mesa, AZ.

Frances and Pearlie provided a loving home for their six children where extended family and friends were always welcome. Her abiding love and faith in God strengthened their family and taught their children the importance of Christian values. Frances lived her life with grace and with God as her guide. Being a truly selfless person, Frances gave of her time and talents freely and created a home filled with joy, sunshine and goodness. The footprints Frances leaves behind will be treasured forever.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Haw Bluff Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Gasque and Pastor Richard Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Casketbearers will be grandsons of Frances Norris.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Burgaw.
