Francis "Frank" Joseph Huber, age 69, of Watha died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born May 1, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Francis H. and Christine Bowman Huber. Also remembered are his brother, George Huber and sister, Marie Huber who both preceded Frank in death.

Surviving Frank is his life partner, Edna Ferrel; daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Jewell (Joe) of Wilmington, Michelle Striewski (Mike) of Castle Hayne and Dorothy Romanelli (Doug Lardi) of Hammonton, New Jersey; grandchildren, Jessica, Alexis, Michael and Toni; great granddaughter, Sophia; brother, Jack Huber of South Carolina; sister, Christine Lower of New Jersey and nieces and nephews.

Frank served his country honorably in the US Marine Corps. He retired after working 28 years as a Red Seal Boiler Operator with Johnson & Matthey, Inc. in West Deptford, New Jersey. In 2005 Frank proudly graduated from George Meany College in Maryland.

Frank was a caring man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed woodworking, flounder gigging, fishing and spending time with his beloved family. With his easy-going and gentle spirit, he was loved by all who knew him. Frank will surely be missed but cherished memories of him will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Graveside service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha with the Reverend Dr. Ray Mendenhall officiating.
