Freda Norvell Giddens Moore, 86, of Pender County, passed from this life to her eternal rest on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at The Laurels of Pender.

She was born on April 1, 1938 in Pender county and was the daughter of the late William Gray and Mary Dell Sherman Giddens.  She was also preceded in death by her sister Sylvia Stallings and brother William "Buddy" Giddens.

Surviving is her son, Ronald Ray Moore of Grier, SC; sisters, Sharon Hilton and husband Lynn of Warsaw and Shelby Jean Puderbach and husband Jack of Turkey; brothers, Kenneth Giddens and wife Linda of Goldsboro and Charles Giddens and wife Nancy of Penderlea; grandchildren Jessica Lewis and Landon Moore; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Freda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was a simple lady who enjoyed the simplest things in life, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her son.  One of her greatest enjoyments was eating her favorite food, Kentucky Fried Chicken.  She absolutely LOVED it!  Freda enjoyed listening to gospel music and spending time with her family and friends.  She was strong-willed, sometimes fiesty and a very independent woman who had a big heart for others.  Freda had a special way about her that would let you know where she stood;  whether verbally or nonverbally, you would know how she felt. Freda had a great love for her sister Sharon who took good care of her throughout the years.  Freda will be missed but treasured memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Giddens Family Cemetery, NC Hwy 11, Willard.
