Garland Ralmond Casteen, 83, of Ramseur left this life for his eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2015 from Randolph Hospice House of Asheboro.

He was born on August 30, 1931 in Duplin County, the son of the late Stephen Decatur and Sinnie Dail Casteen. He was also predeceased by his grandson, David Matthew Young.

Mr. Casteen was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Asheboro.

Surviving is his best friend and loving wife of 64 years, Mary Craft Casteen; his devoted children, Joseph "Joe" Decater Casteen and wife, Rhonda of Walnut Cove, Sharon Casteen Wynn and husband, John of Willow Spring and Karen Casteen Young and husband, David of Ramseur; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brother, Stephen Decatur Casteen of Wallace; sister, Stella Lloyd, of Wallace and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Oak Grove Church, also known as the "Block Church", 5660 South NC Hwy 50, Wallace, NC 28466. Officiating the service will be Pastor Troy Carter and Pastor Durwood Maready.

Burial will follow in Henderson Cemetery, which is located beside the church.

Casketbearers will be Gary Casteen, John Wynn, Sam Young, Brandon Parker, Austin Johnson, and Christian Parker.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Monday, one hour prior the service at the church.
