Gary was a loving son and caring father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed the simplest things in life but his greatest joy was family especially his grandchildren...his heart strings. Being a strong, courageous and yet gentle man, Gary brought out the good in all who were near and dear to him. He has been affectionately referred as a "gentle giant" to those who knew him. Gary was also an avid NASCAR racing fan with Jeff Gordon being his favorite racer. Being an outdoorsman, Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping with his family, going to the beach or just sitting home relaxing with his feline companion, "˜Isabel'. But his passion was being an officer where he met many people who became family during his years with UNC School of the Arts. With a big heart and joyous spirit, it was always a great pleasure to be in his presence. To know Gary was to love him and he will surely be missed. Cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Gary "Cobbster" Cobb.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be sent in Gary's memory to theUniversity of North Carolina School of the Arts, 1533 South Main St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127-2738 or online at https://uncsa.thankyou4caring.org/pages/donate
