Geneva Barnhill Kelly, 83, of Kelly passed gently from her earthly life to her heavenly home on June 18, 2012 at Davis Health Care Center.

She was born September 11, 1928 in Bladen County, the daughter of the late MacL and Irene Horrell Barnhill. Also remembered is her husband of 56 years, Donald Jackson Kelly; daughter, Donnette Kelly Mitchell; sisters, Mildred Barnhill and Lucille Rooks and brothers, Donald Barnhill and Delwood Barnhill, all who preceded Geneva in death.

Geneva is survived by her daughters, Pamela Kelly Garrell (Keith) of Delco and Cherry Kelly Simmons of Wilmington; grandchildren, Chris Simmons (Jennifer), Casey Simmons, and Hunter Garrell; great grandsons, David Atkinson, Jonathan Simmons and Matthew Simmons and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kelly was retired from the US Postal Service after working many years in the Kelly Post Office. She was a faithful member of Centerville Baptist Church.

Geneva loved her family and was the BEST wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend anyone could ask for. Her hands were never idle as she could always find something that needed doing. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and most of all reading her Bible daily and doing for others. Geneva's love for the Lord and unwavering personal commitment to live her life by His word was evident to all who knew her. Cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved Geneva.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Centerville Baptist Church with The Rev. Ryan Carter and the Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday until hour of the service.
