George Joseph Bartie, age 70 of Wallace and formerly of Barnsboro, New Jersey died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Bartie was born October 8, 1938 in Woodbury, New Jersey and was the son of the late Vincent and Evelyn Tinker Bartie. He was predeceased by his only brother, Michael Bartie.

Surviving are his daughters, Holly Scott and Doris Kennedy (Joseph),all of Woodbury, New Jersey and Vickie Hannah (Carl) of Wallace; his son and caretaker, Steve Bartie, also of Wallace; grandchildren, Terrance Scott, Angelina Baker and Ashley Parker; great grandchildren, Cameron Scott, Brooklyn Scott, Emma Baker, Abren Baker and Riley Parker; mother of his children, Elva Bartie of Swell, New Jersey; special friends and pastor, Reverend James Charles Ezzell and wife, Barbara of Holiday, Texas.

Funeral service for Mr. Bartie will be 6:00 pm Friday, April 24, 2009 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Pastor Billy Toler officiating.

Following the funeral service the family will receive friends at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home until 8:00 pm.
