George Washington Peay, Jr., age 67, of Hampstead, NC passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

He was born on February 13, 1953 in Wilmington, NC to the late George and Thelma (Melvin) Peay.

George loved rigging boats and installing marine electronics. He enjoyed boating, fishing and all things water related. George worked over 30 years at Crocker Marine Company and other marine service companies. He was a member at Riley's Creek Baptist Church in Rocky Point, NC. George was a bright light to many people and will be missed dearly.

George is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia (Coman) Peay; step-daughters, Sarah Cleary and Rebecca Cleary Berger and husband, Brian; brother, James Melvin Peay and wife, Darlene; step-grandchildren, Mattie Phillips, Will Berger, and Kathleen Berger Hillbourn and husband, Garrett; and many other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
