Obituary

Geraldine "Gerrie" James Futrell, 72, of Wallace left this earthly life for her eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from the Brian Center of Wallace.

She was born October 29, 1941 in Duplin County and was the daughter of the late Lester and Adell Raynor James. She was also predeceased by her children, Betty Jo Ballard, Cindy Walker and Robbie Walker and brothers, Tommy James, Jimmy "Jabo" James and Bobby Ray "Cotton" James.

Gerrie was a member of Willard Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, B.S. Futrell; daughter, Rosanne James of Wallace; son, Bobby "Boozie" James of Wallace; sisters, Jenette Piner and husband, Bruce of Wallace, Caroline Cavenaugh of Willard, Mary Rivenbark and husband, Ray of Willard, Betty Rackley of Wallace; Carolyn Moore and husband, Buck of Willard and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Gerrie was a devoted wife and caring mother and sister who loved her family dearly. With big heart and gentle spirit she was always willing to help others in need. Gerrie enjoyed reading and joking with those she loved. She was a good cook, but her favorite recipe was "eating out". Gerrie was a quiet, humble woman who was loved and respected by all who knew her. She will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Gerrie.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Willard PFWB Church with Pastor Rodney Bonham officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park in Watha.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am, one hour prior the funeral service on Friday at the church.

Casketbearers will be Charles Futrell, Chuck Dail, Lee Dail, Sam James, Timmy James and Joey Piner.

Honorary casketbearers will be Travis Rich, Aaron James, Jason Wells, and Darrin Moore.
