Glenda Smith Holley, age 78, of Rocky Point, beloved wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and friend flew to her heavenly home on wings of angels on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at her home. She was surrounded with family and much love.

She was born May 30, 1945 in Comfort, NC, the daughter of Golden Jones Smith and Kitty Flossie Lee Smith. In addition to her parents Glenda was preceded in death by her siblings Fredrick Smith, Bobbie Philyaw, and Marvin Smith.

Glenda is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; daughters, Robbin Smith (Rod), and Donna Santos (Tony); son, Ruffin Hill (Monica); grandchildren, Stephaine Todd (Keith), Linzey Cottle (Enoch), Amanda Cowart (Max), Toni Pierce (Matt), Tj Santos (Haylee), Dylan Smith, and Andrew Hill (Hannah); great grandchildren, Treven, Kenlee, Zoey, Ethan, Aubree, Aliceyn, Gracelyn, Maizy, Annie, and Olivia; sisters, Gloria Mooring (Allen), Anna Craft (Nelson), and Mary Hill; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Glenda loved all of her family, but her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the true joys in her life. The grandkids remember how she would sing and sing (even though she could not carry a tune) them to sleep. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and her group  called themselves Ladies of the Lake. Glenda was a wonderful homemaker and filled her home and her heart with love, caring and compassion for others. Her presence in our lives and in our family will surely be missed.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Mr. Travis Horrell conducting the service. Following the service the family will receive friends at the funeral Home.
