Obituary

Glenn Thomas Swart, 48, of Albertson and formerly of Castle Hayne passed peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2012 at his home surrounded by his caring family.

He was born October 15, 1963 in Wilmington, the son of the late Thomas Hendrik and Christene Tucker Swart.

Glenn is survived by his loving family; his wife of 20 years, Deanna Smith Swart; daughters, Kelli Swart and Krissy Swart both of the home; sister, Tammy Swart Whitman ( Larry) of Wilmington; nephew, Thomas Whitman of Wilmington; and many extended family and friends.

Glenn was a life long member of McClure Memorial Presbyterian Church. He served with Castle Hayne Fire Department for 15 years as a volunteer firefighter.

First and foremost Glenn loved his family with all his heart and was the BEST husband, daddy, brother, uncle and friend. He excelled in being a mechanic and for many years enjoyed farming in Castle Hayne where he grew up. In years past he enjoyed hunting and just being outdoors in God's beautiful world. His zest for life, his laughter, and his great sense of humor will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at McClure Memorial Presbyterian Church, 5908 Castle Hayne Rd., Castle Hayne NC 28429, with the Rev. Don Craft and the Rev. Sam Gore officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of sharing and fellowship at the church on Monday at 4:30 p.m. until hour of the service.
