Gloria Stokley Sellers, age 75, of Burgaw passed gently from her earthly life Friday, September 1, 2023 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born December 18, 1947 in Wilmington, the daughter of Clarence James Stokley and Margaret Bowen Stokley. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ronald Sellers.

Gloria is survived by her sons, James Ronald "Ron" Sellers and his wife, Heather and Elmer Wade Sellers and his wife, Paula; grandchildren, Samantha "Sam" Sellers Buffkin (Grayson), Morgan Sellers, and Hannah Sellers; great grandson, Myles Buffkin; and brother, James Michael Stokley (Janice).

In Wilmington Gloria grew up in the Seagate community.  She often shared stories of the fun, delicious fish fries and oyster roasts that she enjoyed as a youth in that community. In later years Gloria was proficient at many things – making wedding and birthday cakes, embroidering, sewing, doing all kinds of arts and crafts, and was quite an artist. Most of all Gloria loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Riverview Memorial Park.
