Goldie Gertrude Wells Baldwin, 98, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born August 28, 1928 in Pender County, the daughter of Jessie Wells and Ruth Gertrude Harrell Wells. In addition to her parents Goldie was preceded in death by her grandson, John Jenness III and his wife, Rachel; and great grandson, Joseph Hesse. Goldie is survived by her loving family.

Goldie, a loving caring lady raised and took care of four generations of children. She was a fabulous cook and homemaker, but what she enjoyed most was taking care of her yard and being outdoors in God’s world of nature. Through the years Goldie was loved so dearly and by so many. Goldie will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Goldie’s family would like to say a special thanks for the compassionate care and unwavering dedication and kindness from the staff of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare and especially to nurse Sonia and CNA Joyce.

A family memorial service will be at a later date.
