Grant Malone
Costin
June 20, 1975 – June 9, 2024
Grant Malone Costin left this world unexpectedly on June 9, 2024, surrounded by people he loved.
Grant shined bright like a diamond when he walked into any room, spreading joy and positive energy to anyone he met. He had many trials and tribulations throughout life that would have knocked most people down and kept them there but, Grant refused to let his past define his future and continued to push forward every day to better himself and be the man he knew he was. His faith in the lord came before anything and he preached the word to anyone that would listen. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan (green and yellow, green and yellow) and loved all things comic book related, he was convinced that he was Batman. His laugh was contagious, and you couldn't help but laugh when you were in his company. He found a way to bring joy and light to any situation and loved harder than anyone I know. He enjoyed going to the river and fishing even though the only fish he could catch looked like bait, he did not let that discourage him as he would hold the tiny fish up for a picture and smile big for the camera. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and no matter what, if you were his friend, you knew he would have your back when you needed him. He was an ear when you needed it, a shoulder to cry on, a positive word in a negative situation and the absolute best friend you could ask for. He had a passion for cutting hair and took it very serious, sometimes making a haircut last longer than it should just to make sure it was perfect, and it always was. His dream was to start a mobile haircutting business and there is no doubt he would have nailed it and been highly successful. He received his CDL as a backup plan but, when Grant set his mind to something there was no looking back, only forward. He loved food! He would come home from hanging out with Momma D and Al with a big Ol plate of soul food and would not stop talking about how good it was even after it was gone or come out of his room with a big smile because, he smelled whatever Sean was cooking and he was ready to eat. He loved music and singing karaoke like he was auditioning for America Idol. He spent every day not just trying to make himself better but trying to make everyone around him better too. He took his pain and used it to try to mentor anyone that was going through what he had been through so they could flourish like he was. Grant was proceeded in death by his infant son Grant Malone Costin Jr, his biological mother, Linda Jean Holt Costin, his Grandmother Virginia Blanton Holt Parmenter, god son, Dayston Ward, Cousins Eugene Bud Jenness, Joey Wyatt, and nephew, Christian Costin. He is survived by his mother Deloris M. Devane, Daughters Tamara and Makenzie Nelson, granddaughter, Layah Nelson, god son James Ashlee Holleman, Sisters, Tammy Lynn Costin, Terry Lynn Holt, Brothers Greg Costin, Gary Costin, Aunt Ovaline Holt, Patricia Blizzard, and Uncle William Holt.
