Greg "Bulldog"
Teachey
Sep 8, 1959 — Dec 19, 2022
Greg "Bulldog" Teachey, 63, of Wallace passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at his residence.
He was born on September 8, 1959 in New Hanover County; the son of Martha Merritt Teachey of Wallace and the late Bennie F. Teachey. Greg was also predeceased by his sister, Nancy Iredale and brothers, Bennie F. Teachey, Jr. and Billy Teachey.
Greg was a member of Poston Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his devoted wife of 33 years, Gail Foy Teachey of the home; his daughter, Kayla Murray and husband, Jeffrey of Wallace; grandchildren who were the 'apples of his eye', Rowan Murray, Gracie Murray and Colt Murray; sister, Glenda Moore and husband, J.C. of Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved Greg dearly.
Greg was a devoted son and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family with all his heart. He was a man who could do almost anything and nothing was too hard for him. Being a property owner and manager, Greg was a jack of all trades. He was a humble man who loved everyone and would give the shirt off his back to those in need. Greg and Gail were together over 35 years and not only were they husband and wife, they were best friends. Being the greatest "Bop" (grandfather) to Rowan, Gracie and Colt, Greg enjoyed spending time with each of them by attending their soccer games, picking them up at school, playing video games, riding them on the golf-cart and just playing around. He loved his granchildren and enjoyed every minute he spent with them making memories. Greg also enjoyed being outside playing golf during the years. With a big heart and a witty personality, Greg loved to joke, laugh and make other's laugh. He was always there for his mother, Gail, and Kayla. When Kayla was young, Greg became a father figure for many of Kayla's friends. He was a good man in every sense of the word. Greg will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC. Pastor Chris Jarman will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends at "Granny Teachey's" home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Penderlea Christian Accademy, 4875 Cora's Grove Rd, Willard NC 28478; the school Greg's grandchildren attend.
