Gregory Alan
Rackley
May 27, 1953 — Mar 31, 2017
Gregory Alan Rackley, 63, of Magnolia passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on May 27, 1953 in Pender County and was the son of the late Melvin Henry and Daphne DeBose Rackley.
Greg is survived by his brother, Randy Rackley and wife, Betty of Wilmington; his uncle, aunts, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his extended family at Kennedy's Garage and Towing Company.
Greg was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and friends dearly. He was a hard worker whose passion was driving a tow truck. He worked at Duplin County Bus Garage for 18 years and then opened his own Rackley's Towing and Body Shop and operated it for 20 years. Later Greg went to work with Kennedy's Garage and Towing which he has worked for 6 years. Greg enjoyed building "street rods", antique cars and was an avid motorcyclist. Greg had a giant heart and never put himself first. He will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Greg.
Graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha with Rev. Randy Nethercutt officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be sent to National Motorcycle Safety Fund, 2 Jenner Suite 150, Irvine, CA 92618 or to the charity of your choice.
