Happy Conrad McCoy, age 75, of Atkinson, North Carolina and formerly of Morgantown, West Virginia died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at his home.

He was born October 6, 1932 in Fairview, West Virginia, the youngest of ten children of Artie and Rhoda Eddy McCoy. He was preceded in death by his son, Alan McCoy; his parents and all of his siblings.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-three years, Lilly Peach McCoy of the home; daughters, Priscilla McCoy of Atkinson, North Carolina and Brenda Hughes (Dan) of Radcliff, Kentucky; selected son, Brian Murray (Judi) of Morgantown, West Virginia; grandchildren, Rebecca Burge, P. C. Burge, David Menear, Crystal Menear, Joel McCoy and Justin McCoy; and six great grandchildren.

Happy was a living example of his given name. Never meeting a stranger Happy always had a smile, a funny story and an encouraging word for all. His love and dedication to his family was evident in the life he lived. Enjoying hunting and fishing, Happy loved being outdoors in God's beautiful world. Happy's family is grateful to God for his life and for your kindness, friendship and prayers. Cherished memories of Happy will forever remain in our hearts.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Beverly Hills Garden Chapel in Morgantown, West Virginia with family and friends conducting the service.
