Harold Tyler Coleman, 56, of Hampstead passed from his earthly life on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his home.

He was born February 16, 1961 in Wilmington, the son of the late Joseph Ardell and Mary Muriel Howard Coleman. Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Sandlin and brother, Daniel Coleman.

Harold is survived by his son, Tyler Coleman; daughter, Katelyn Watkins; sisters, Dolores Guthrie and Marlene Powell; brothers, Johns Coleman, Wesley Coleman (Frances), and Arnold Coleman; and many nieces, nephews and friends all who loved Harold.

Harold, called Horace since birth was a joy to know. He loved his family and was a wonderful daddy to Tyler and Katelyn, who brought so much happiness into Horace's life. His witty sense of humor and love of laughter endeared him to many. He was blessed with artistic talents as he enjoyed carving, whittling wood and even sometimes dabbled into painting pictures. He will be remembered for his zest for life, sunny smile, and most of all for love of his family.

Memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the home of Dolores Guthrie in Hampstead. The Rev. Edward Dowd will conduct the service.
