Obituary

Harold Glenn Mobley, 78, of Rose Hill left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

He was born on August 8, 1944 in Duplin County; the son of the late Leslie Roscoe Mobley and the late Mildred English Mobley Pierce.  Harold was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Mobley Todd, brothers, Ray Mobley and Allen Mobley and stepfather, Albert Pierce.

He was a member of Wallace Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was a great contributor to the Falcon Children's Home Cake Auction over the years at the church.   Harold worked Sumter Utilities for 45 years. He began as a lineman and retired as Superintendent and Safety Director.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Lois Johnson Mobley; his sons, Glenn Mobley and wife Ro of Wallace and Greg Mobley and wife Christa of Wallace; granddaughter, Morgan Lee and husband John; grandson, Drake Mobley; great granddaughter Olivia Lee and soon-to-be granddaughter Adalynn Lee; sisters-in-law, Patricia Mobley of Holly Ridge and Melba Mobley of Valrico, FL; step grandchildren, Harry Artemisio, Patrick Artemisio and Holly Page; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that loved Harold dearly.

Harold was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and friend.  He was a simple man who was loved and respected by all who knew him.   Being an avid baseball fan, Harold enjoyed spending time at the ballpark supporting every kid that was playing.   He had a passion and special love for kids and considered them all as one of his own. Being very talented, he built engines for racing go carts for many in the Wallace-Rose Hill area.   After retirement, Harold enjoyed riding his lawn mower and mowing his neighbors' yards. Harold was a giver who expected nothing in return .  He loved doing for others as well as giving to those in need.  He was a caring and totally selfless man who loved everybody and was loved in return. To Harold, no one was a stranger. He was a jokester; loved to laugh and make others laugh.  His life was dedicated to God and his family. He was known as "friend" to many and "PaPa" to Drake and Morgan, who were the apples of his eyes.  Harold was, without a doubt, a true gift from God. He will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
