Harold T. "Tommy" Wood, Jr., age 68, of Azle, Texas and formerly of Wallace, North Carolina left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.

He was born on November 30, 1947 in Wallace, North Carolina and was the son of the late Harold and Edna Wood.

Tommy served his country honorably in the US Navy for 30 years. After retirement from the Navy, he was employed with IKON Office Solutions for 20 years. Tommy was a member of First Baptist Church of Azle.

Surviving to cherish his memories is his wife, Mary Wood of Azle, TX; his children, Amy Wood LaSalle and Tommy Wood, III and wife Allison; his step children, Jamie and Christian Epps, seven grandchildren, his sister, Debbie Wood Barber and husband Nicky of Wallace; his brothers, David Wood and wife Debbie, Ricky Wood and wife Lynn, all of Wallace, NC and Mike Wood of Wilson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Tommy was a loving husband and caring father, grandfather and brother who loved his family and his country. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. One of his favorite past-times was computer gaming. Tommy was a real gentleman no matter where you saw him. He was always willing to help other and one of God's children who always had a shoulder for others to lean on. With Tommy's compassionate and humble spirit, He was a blessing to others during his lifetime. Tommy will surely be missed but cherished memories of him will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home church, Wallace Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wallace, NC with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating.
