Harry Randolph
Caines, Jr.
Apr 15, 1949 — Mar 6, 2018
Harry Randolph "Randy" Caines, Jr., 68, of Burgaw passed gently from his earthly life on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at his home with beloved family caring for him.
He was born April 15, 1949 in Wilmington, the son of the late Harry Randolph and Geraldine Dempsey Caines.
Randy is survived by his wife, Una C. Caines; daughters, Christina Caines, Kimberly Caines, Amy House (Greg) and Lisa Duarte (Albert Krelie); 14 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother, Dale Caines (Linda); a large extended family; and many friends.
After working for 18 years in the Pathology Department, Randy retired from New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church.
Randy graduated from Morganton School for the Deaf where he developed a love of athletics as a participant and as a viewer. He ran track, was member of the wrestling team and played football, winning many accolades. Randy never let his hearing impairment stop him from anything he wanted to accomplish. He loved to dance and watch his favorite ball teams, Tar Heels basketball and Carolina Panthers football. Randy was often affectionately called "Beach Boy". Always available to help others, Randy was a good friend and neighbor. Being a wonderful husband and caring daddy, granddaddy, great granddaddy, brother and friend; his top priority in life after the Lord was his beloved family that he cherished. Randy's passing leaves an empty place in our home and in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Wrightsboro Baptist Church with memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Jim Newkirk will conduct the service.
