Mr. Harry "Graham" Kilpatrick, Sr., of Wallace, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Campbell Health Center of Burgaw, North Carolina following an extended illness.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Chapel in Wallace with Reverend John McIntyre officiating.  A private burial will follow.  The family will receive friends immediately after the funeral service at the funeral home.

Mr. Kilpatrick was born November 28, 1941, to his parents John Burton Kilpatrick, Sr. and Dolly Teachey Kilpatrick of Teachey.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Dororthy K. Peterson and Lois K. Cooper; his brothers John Burton "JB" Kilpatrick, Jr. and Stanley Kilpatrick; and niece Karen Cooper Neuwrith.

Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shelby McIntyre Kilpatrick; his son Harry Graham "Rick" Kilpatrick, Jr. and wife Kim of Apex; his daughters Shannon K. Styles and husband Todd of Wilmington and Amanda K. Hawes and husband David of Rose Hill; grandchildren Allyson, Lindsey and Sarah Kilpatrick, Gavin and Ryanne Claire Puryear and Brantley Hawes; step-grandchildren Chloe, Todd, Jr. and Ceighlee Styles; sister-in-law Mildred Fort Kilpatrick; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  

Mr. Kilpatrick graduated from Wallace-Rose Hill High School in 1960 and from East Carolina College (now ECU) in 1964, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in history. Over a span of 40 years, he was a teacher at various Duplin County schools, of which Wallace-Rose Hill High School was the stint of his career, where he taught History, Drivers Education and was an Assistant Football Coach.  His biggest and proudest moment of his coaching career was in 1994 when Wallace-Rose Hill won their first State Championship.  He also served on the Wallace Town Council from 1997 to 2013.  Being an avid sports fan, he enjoyed following the football teams of the East Carolina Pirates and North Carolina Tar Heels.  He was also an animal lover of both cats and dogs and was often seen around the neighborhood taking his dogs for walks.

Mr. Kilpatrick touched many lives during his lifetime and he will surely be missed.
