Obituary

Hazel Mae Pressley Bloodworth, 100, of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully June 22, 2015 at Autumn Care of Myrtle Grove.

She was born in Asheville, NC and was preceded in death by her husband James Pender Bloodworth, daughter Betty Bloodworth Moore and son-in-law Julius Raymond Moore, one sister and four brothers.

Hazel is survived by her daughter MJ Cooper and husband Dan of Wilmington, NC; sister Edith Crisp of Marion, NC; grandchildren Julius Stephen Moore of Downingtown, PA, James Alan Moore and wife Blair of Charlotte, NC, Angie Henry Valentine and husband Keith of Wilmington, NC, Traci Moore Bayse and husband Doug of Wilmington, NC, David Brian Moore and wife Susan of Franklinton, NC, Amy Henry Barnhill and husband Steven of Wilmington, NC; and nine great grandchildren: Emily Barcia Moore and Benjamin Julius Moore of Red Bank, NJ, Kylie Elizabeth Moore, Erin Hollis Moore, and Emory Suzanne Moore of Charlotte, NC, Kason Alexander Valentine of Wilmington, NC, Brooke Taylor Bayse of Wilmington, NC, and Lindsey Elizabeth Moon and Noah Ryan Moon of Wilmington, NC.

Hazel was the oldest member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and was awarded Church Elder Emeritus on her 99th Birthday. She loved square dancing, camping, ice cream, hats and crafts, and most of all - her husband, two daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Hazel always had a smile on her face and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home where a funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Burial will be at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 2237 Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington, NC 28401.
