Obituary

Hazel "Teap" Mills Giddeons, age 89, of Willard passed from her earthly life on Monday, October 17th, 2016.

She was born on November 15, 1926 in Pender County and was the daughter of the late Joe Z. and Viola English Mills. Also remembered is her beloved husband of 58 years, John Henry Giddeons; her sisters, Mary Blackburn, Mavis English and Merrill Tiderman and her brothers, Elwood Mills and Bobby Mills.

Hazel was a life-long member of Mills Memorial Advent Christian Church. She was happiest when she was baking cakes for others. She was known for her delicious country ham and biscuits. Hazel loved to laugh at the simpliest of things. Above all, she was a devoted mother. Hazel will surely be missed but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Michelle Giddeons of Willard; her sisters, Bonnie Lee Teachey and husband, Henry of Rose Hill, Armour Moore of Rose Hill and Alice Murray and husband, Major of Wallace as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but family and friends are welcome at the home of Gary and Michelle Giddeons.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Mills Memorial Advent Christian Church, c/o Mrs. Shelly Strickland, 181 Willard Road, Willard, NC. 28478 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
