Hazel Croom Luttrell, 87, of Lewisville, Texas and formally from Currie, NC passed gently from her earthly life on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Lewisville, TX.
She was born, November 19, 1927 in Currie, the daughter of the late Hadley Green Croom and Flora Woodcock Croom Malpass. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Arthur "Monroe" Croom; sisters, Bertha C. Bolick and Elsie C. Holland; grandsons, William Tommy Turner and Micah Tommy Turner.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth L. Turner (Tommy) of Keller, TX; son, Frank P. Luttrell II of Alabama; granddaughter, Arianne Voss (Arron) of Corinth, Texas; great grandchildren, Gwyn, Gabby and Robert Voss; sister, Patricia Porciuncula of Fountain Valley, CA; brother, Teddy Croom (Marie) of Rocky Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hazel and her family spent three wonderful years in France of which she had fond memories. For more than 20 years Hazel was employed with Redix at Wrightsville Beach. She was a member of Moores Creek Baptist Church in Currie and for many years she taught Sunday school wherever she was living at the time. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Del Rio Chapter #204 in Del Rio, Texas, and she served as a past Matron.
Hazel loved her family and was a lady filled with grace, sharing and kindness. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith in the Lord, her radiant smile and her sweet spirit.
The family will receive friends 2 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Moores Creek Baptist Church followed by service at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.
