Helen Louise Andrews, age 83, of Burgaw died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Pender Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 1, 1925 in Olcott, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Jefferson Madison Price and Reba Clendenin Price. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Neil Cunningham.

Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Bobby Maxwell Andrews of the home; daughter, Sharon A. Cunningham of Falls Church, Virginia; sons, David Andrews and wife, Cynthia, of Leesburg, Virginia and Terry Andrews and wife, Ramona, of Ivanhoe; grandchildren, Melissa, Robert, Hunter, Jennifer and Christina; great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Savannah and Teagan.

Helen was a devoted Marine Corps wife and a loving mother and grandmother. When her children were little they always said, "Our mom is the prettiest and sweetest lady on the block." She and Bobby shared a wonderful marriage and family. Over the years, they traveled extensively and visited all 50 states. Collecting glassware and doing needle point were her favorite pastimes. Helen blessed the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, two hours prior to the funeral service.

Funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with the Rev. E. C. Mattocks officiating.

Graveside service and burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, NC.

Casketbearers will be David Andrews, Terry Andrews, Hunter Andrews, Robert Cunningham, Michael Simpson and Austin Caperton.
