Helen Woodcock Beasley, 68, of Clinton passed gently from her earthly life on Friday, January 3, 2014 in Betsy Johnson Hospital, Dunn.

She was born April 18, 1945 in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Cecil Woodcock and Viola King Turnage. She was preceded in death by her bother, N.A. Woodcock.

Helen is survived by daughter, Edna Pridgen Peterson (David) of Dunn; son, John P. Pridgen of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughter, Madison Rae Peterson; sisters, Rachel Boone (Jerry) of Mt. Olive and Frances Futrell (J.D.) of Wallace; brother, Mackey Woodcock of Wilmington and many extended family and friends.

Helen loved her family and friends. She found great joy in the simplest of things, but her greatest joy was family. She loved crocheting, yard sales, and parades. Helen had a joyful personality and loved visiting with neighbors and friends. By donating her corneas, Helen's last gift in this world was the gift of eyesight to someone. Cherished memories of Helen will forever remain in our hearts.

The family will receive friends at 12 noon on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with service following at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Jerry Boone will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodcock Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Allen Harper, Joe Lanier, Danny Boone, and Frank Peterson.
