Helen Barnhill Williamson, 77, of Leland, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at home. She was born on August 23, 1944, in Columbus County, NC, to the late Wilbur and Zelma (Burney) Barnhill.

Helen was very strong in her Christian faith. She was notorious for never slowing down and was always on the go. She loved to go "hunting" at consignment shops and eating seafood, especially crab legs and oysters. Helen also enjoyed fishing and crabbing the old school way. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by daughters, Sharon Sullivan and husband, Wilson, Wendy Theisen and husband, Jay, Susan Wilson and husband, Toby; stepsons, Ronald Williamson and wife, Meshell, Byron Williamson and wife, Stephanie; stepdaughter, Marcie Debethizy and husband, Eddie; sister, Elsie Brown; grandchildren, Colton, Chris, Michael, Andrew, Brittany, Jessica, Johnnie Ray; and her 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Helen was also preceded in death by husband, Byronnie "Barney" Kay Williamson; son, Jimmy Ray Wilson, Jr.; brothers, Clifton Barnhill, Hubert Eugene Barnhill; sister, Juanita Payne; and granddaughter, Amanda Sullivan.

Helen's funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 3pm, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington with Pastor Richard Britt and Pastor Tonja Osborne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington.
