Henry Aaron Croom, age 67, surrounded by his loving family went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2007.

He was born June 28, 1940 in Pender County, the son of the late Harry Allen and Mary Ramsey Croom. He was also predeceased by his brother Greg K. Croom.

Mr. Croom was a member of Castle Hayne Baptist Church. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox in 1983 and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling to the mountains.

Aaron was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife, Linda Earp Croom of the home; daughters, Debora L. Hobbs of Rocky Point and Sheila Croom Porter and husband, Jeff of Wilmington; son, William Aaron Croom of Castle Hayne; grandchildren, Kristal Jordan and husband, Kevin, Cpl. Shane Hobbs (USMC), Grant Porter and Rachel Porter; great granddaughter, Kinley Jordan; brothers, J.B. Croom and wife, Edith of Burgaw and Allen Ray Croom, Sr. and wife, Alice of New Bern; sister, Kathy Marie McKoy and husband, Frankie of Burgaw and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one and one-half hours prior to the funeral service on Saturday; from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Allen Ray Croom officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

Casketbearers will be William Aaron Croom, Allen Ray Croon, II, Brent Croom, Bryan Croom, Greg McKoy and Jonathan McKoy.

Honorary bearers will be Wayne Kelly, Jimmy Sullivan, Sammy Costin, Bill Pender, Jimmy Baldwin, Sherrill Willoughby, and Jerome Blake.
