Henry Dougald "Dee"
Macmillan
May 19, 1948 – March 19, 2026
Henry Dougald "Dee" MacMillan, age 77, of Topsail Beach, North Carolina left his earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
He was born on May 19, 1948, in New Hanover County; the son of the late Ray Bland and Mary Frances Wells MacMillan.
Henry graduated from Wallace Rose Hill High School and from Campbell University. He later served his country in the US National Guard. Henry was a dedicated member of Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel where he served the Lord in numerous capacities throughout the years.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 19 years Gayla Lanier MacMillan of the home; stepson Bradley Kennedy and wife Samantha of Chinquapin; granddaughter Sophia Kennedy; sister Brenda M. Teachey and husband Grady of Fayetteville, NC; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved and respected Henry.
Henry or "Dee" as he was affectionately called, was a devoted husband and caring stepfather, brother and friend. He was a Christian man who loved his Lord and Savior with all his heart, soul and mind. Dee lived his life by The Word. He studied and believed every word of it. If anyone had a question about anything, Dee would take them to the Bible to find the answer. His life revolved around Jesus. He wanted everyone to know Him as he did. After Dee retired from NC Department of Revenue, he volunteered at church doing many things to help the kingdom of God. Dee was a one-of-a-kind man who loved people and had friends all over the state. He was, without a doubt, a gift from God. All who knew him were truly blessed.

Dee's favorite Bible verse: I Corinthians 15:1-4
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."
