On Sunday, December 13, 2015, Reverend Hill Carrier Teachey, Jr., 80, of Wallace left this earthly life for his eternal home.
Born on September 17, 1935 in Duplin County, he was the son of Hill Carrier Teachey and Sarah Mobley Teachey.
Hill is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of sixty years, Marjorie Price Teachey; beloved son, Hill Carrier Teachey, III and wife, Doris of Midland, NC; loving daughters, Patsy Vaughan of Huntersville, NC and Lisa Teachey of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, David Teachey, Thomas Teachey, Daniel Edwards, Nikki Cook, and husband, Doug, Travis Blanton and wife, Ebeline; great grandchildren, Lucy and Lexi Cook, Isaiah and Veronica Blanton; sisters, Geraldine Franz and Betty Kelley of Wallace and Esta Mason of New Jersey; numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved Hill dearly. Hill is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Mary Price and Sarah Rivenbark.
Hill was a devoted husband and caring father, grandfather and brother. He loved life and enjoyed laughing. His unique ability to make others laugh was one of his greatest qualities and naturally drew others to him. It was his desire to see others give their heart to the Lord and live for Jesus Christ.
Hill spent the early part of his life as a logger until he was called into the ministry. He pastored 36 years in the North Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church where he touched many lives.
At the time of his death, Hill and Marjorie had retired to their family home in Wallace. He will surely be missed, but cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved Hill. Our loss is Heaven's gain. "Well Done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord."
Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Wallace Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Bobby Smith, Bishop Danny Nelson, Patsy Vaughan, Reverend George "Buster" Price and Reverend Dean Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
