Horace Edward "Buddy" Jones, Jr., age 56, of Rose Hill passed from this life to his eternal rest on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from his residence.

He was born on June 17, 1960 in Lenoir County and was the son of Elizabeth Jones of Rose Hill and the late Horace Edward Jones.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his sister, Mary Ann Jarman and husband, Billy of Magnolia; nephew, George Jarman and wife Heather of Turkey and Michael Jarman and wife, Laura of Roseboro and numerous extended family and friends.

Buddy was a devoted son and caring brother and uncle who loved his family dearly. He was a hard worker who took his job seriously and enjoyed helping others. Being a simple man, Buddy was happiest when he was driving a wrecker or rollback, knowing that he was doing something to help others. He enjoyed working on vehicles and going to the VFW. Buddy was a kind and honest man who took pride in all he did. He will be surely missed but cherished memories will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved Buddy.

Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Wallace Chapel with Reverend Jerry Pike officiating.

Burial will follow immediately after the service at Duplin Memorial Gardens.
