Hosea "Tom" Grant's Obituary
Hosea Thomas (Tom) Grant passed away January 13, 2016.
Tom was born in Wilmington, NC on June 5, 1945. He was a graduate of New Hanover High School and UNCW.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hosea T Sr. and Dorothy Rhodes Grant and his brother Daniel Rhodes Grant.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shelby Holliday Grant, two daughters Greta Mallard and Tara Bayse and four grandchildren.
Tom was in the US Coast Guard serving four years in Alaska and Savannah, Georgia. He retired from CSX Railroad after 32 years of service. After his retirement he served at the Seamen's Center of Wilmington.
Graveside service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A celebration of Tom's life will begin at 1:00 PM at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends after the service.
The family requests no flowers be sent. Please consider a memorial contribution to Wrightsboro United Methodist Church.
