Howard James Marshall, 58, of Greenville and formerly of Currie died Friday, May 27, 2011 in Pitt County.

He was born August 4, 1952 in Wilmington and was the son of the late Crawford and Helen Porter Marshall.

Howard is survived by his sisters, Betty M. Hill (Thomas "Tom") of Oakboro and Mary M. Pender (Wayne) of Riegelwood; niece, Jennifer Lafond (Dan); nephew, Jonathan Hill (Mae) and Matthew Robinson; and great nieces, Marcie and Lexie.

Howard graduated from East Carolina University and continued to live and work in Greenville after graduation. Being an avid hunter and fisherman he enjoyed being outdoors in God's beautiful world. Fond memories of Howard will always remain in our hearts.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Canetuck Baptist Church with the Rev. William Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington NC 28401.
