Hugh Edward Rouse

Hugh Edward Rouse, 80, of Rose Hill, North Carolina left this earthly life for his eternal rest on Friday, August 28, 2026.

He was born on March 18, 1946, in New Hanover County and was the son of the late William Joseph and Sally Murphy Rouse. Mr. Rouse was also preceded in death by his brothers, Chester Joseph Rouse and David W. Rouse, Sr. and special nephew David Rouse Jr.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 52 years Stella Wells Rouse; his sons Eric Rouse and wife Jennifer of Sneads Ferry and Stuart Rouse of Rose Hill; his grandson and apple of his eye, Griffin Wells Rouse; special nieces Patricia McGarity of Nashville, TN and Treva Simmons and husband Gene of Charlotte; numerous extended family and friends that loved Hugh dearly.

Hugh was a loving husband and caring father and grandfather who loved his family with all his heart. He was a hard worker and great provider for his wife and children throughout the years. With a big heart, Hugh would help anyone in need and not think twice about it. He will surely be missed but treasured memories of him will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved and knew him.
