Hulan
Anderson
August 14, 1927 – February 1, 2012
Hulan Anderson, age 84, of Kelly passed from his earthly life to his eternal rest on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Pender Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1927 in Canetuck Community of Pender County, the son of the late Julian Faison Anderson and Odell Croom Anderson.
Hulan is survived by his loving family, his wife of 63 years, Annie Mills Anderson; son, Hulan Ashley Anderson, Sr. (Kay) of Currie; grandchildren, Hulan Ashley Anderson Jr. and wife, Donna, of Atkinson and Amber Anderson Jennings and husband, Michael, of Currie; great grandchildren, Christopher Anderson, Noah Anderson, Annabella Hansen and Noelle Hansen; and sister, Mary Arleene Walker of Penderlea.
Hulan was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Hulan was affectionately known as "Andy" by his friends and as an outgoing soul who never met a stranger. His grandchildren and great grands called him "Paw Paw". Hulan always had his coffee mug full of ice cold water for those hot summer days when the grands would need a sip while playing outside. He rarely called a repairman as he was a regular "Mr. Fit It", never meeting an obstacle he could not defeat. Loved by all and will be missed by many. Hulan's bright smile, good sense of humor and warm heart will always be cherished and remembered.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Nunnery and Carl Derstine officiating. Casketbearers will be James Anderson, Julian Anderson, Michael Jennings, Doug Anderson, Chris Anderson, Albert Watkins and Robert Anderson.
The family will receive friends at the family home on Morgan Road.
Condolences may be sent to the family by selecting "Memory Wall" above.
