Obituary

     Ida Mae Keith, 90, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed peacefully from her earthly life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center.

     She was born on May 14, 1936, in Pender County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Robert Powell Barnhill and the late Beadie Mae Wilson Barnhill.

     In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Relmer Curtis Keith, Sr.; her daughter, Kelli Keith Furry; her brothers, Leroy Barnhill, Robert Barnhill, and Elbert Barnhill; and her sisters, Lucille Spencer, Helen Ragsdale, Emma Joyce Colvin and Gail Dixon.

     Ida is survived by her children, Relmer Curtis Keith, Jr. and Michael Keith (Lavon); son-in-law, Hank Furry; two grandchildren, Landon Furry (Victoria Harrison) and Kali Vanderpool (Rob); her brothers, Joe Barnhill and John David Barnhill; and sisters Geraldine Swart Smith and Ann Holt.

     Ida was an active and long time member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church. Her dedication and patience were seen with her willingness to teach Sunday School and assist with vacation Bible School. Ida was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them and she will surely be missed by all who loved her.

     Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Eddie Eaton conducting the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery, 2111 Clarks Landing Loop Road, Rocky Point, NC 28457.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Wrightsboro Baptist Church 2736 Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington, NC 28401 or Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Foundation 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
