Iris Ware Miller Isaacs, 84, of Wallace went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Isaacs was born December 13, 1930 in Gainesville, TX; the daughter of the late George P. and Grace Carson Ware. She was also predeceased by her husband and the father of her children, Fred Howard Miller; her late husband, Thomas Isaacs and her daughter, Darla Miller.
She was a devoted member of Wallace United Methodist Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Surviving is her loving children, Kathy Bell (Bill) of Currie, Emily Ashe of Wilmington and Fred Miller (Debra) of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Iris Davis (Joseph), Patrick Bell, Kenneth Ashe (Amy), Jason Ashe, Thomas Ashe (Tina), Kristy Speight (Allen), and Fred H. Miller, III (Ashleigh); great grandchildren, Katie Rosenberger, Joey Rosenberger, Woody Council, Ryan Bell, Darby Bell, Mackenzie Ashe, Miller Ashe, Sam Ashe, Sara Couch, Cameron Miller, Nickolas Miller and Jayne Miller and one great-great grandson; brothers, George Ware and Joe Ware (Nell) of Gainesville, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Iris was a loving mother and caring grandmother, sister and friend who loved her family dearly. She loved being outside working in the garden or planting flowers. Iris was a people's person who enjoyed her church family, salad suppers and singing in the choir. Iris was proud of her heritage and very proud to be a Texan. She will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Iris.
A celebration of Iris' life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Wallace United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Bob Kretzu officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park, Watha.
Casketbearers will be Kenneth Ashe, Tommy Ashe, Jason Ashe, Darby Bell, Fred Miller III, and Ryan Bell.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts be sent to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
