Frances Dukes Pickett, age 59, of Rocky Point died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at her home.

She was born February 6, 1949 in Craven County, the daughter of the late George Daniel and Mary Virginia Jefferson Dukes. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren Garris in 1973.

Mrs. Pickett was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Frances was a loving wife, mama, grandma, sister and friend who was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her loving family; her husband of 32 years, Joseph "Joe" E. Pickett of the home; children, Sharon Johnson (Charles) of Rocky Point, Wanda Garris of Bolton, Karen Pacheco (Wilson) of Teachey, Mary Frances Usorio (Juan Vargas), and Willie Pickett (Kimberly) all of Rocky Point; ten grandchildren, Alex Quate, Jessica Castillo, Maria Castillo, Kayla Meza, Whitney Pacheco, Kelsi Pacheco, Adrianna Pickett, Hector Usorio, Michael Pickett and Dakota Pickett; sisters, Helen Malpass of Wilmington, Anna Wells of Castle Hayne, and Betty Jean Ezzell of Watha; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Burgaw Chapel with Pastor Arnold Griffin and The Rev. Rodney Bonham officiating.

Burial will follow in Bonham Family Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Josh Norris, Corey Moore, Joshua Randolph Bonham, Raymond Lee Pickett, Timothy Wayne Watkins, and Donald Ray Blanton.

Honorary casketbeaer will be J. R. Bonham.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw.
